Cruisin' for a Bruisin'

I've recently finished a short animation, initially for a competition but I've decided to do the rounds with it on the festival circuit. It's a bit of fun - only took me 2 weeks to make so we'll see what happens.

The Beastly Brew

I'm working on a new animated short of my own creation with the working title 'The Beastly Brew'.

A scientist drinks an experimental concoction in his laboratory before an unruly crowd arrive to put an end to his madness, but what monstrosity awaits them inside?

It's been a good 5 years since I've animated a short film of my own but it's great to be animating with paper again. Bloody computers.

'Sh*t Happens' successes and the small team behind the short film.

My grad film 'Sh*t Happens' has received enormous success over the last 2 years, and I would like to send out a big thanks to everyone who helped make my film possible:

Rhys Vanstone and Michael O'Sullivan for taking time out to record their amusing voices (Rhys has recently got married, congratulations my good friend!), my good friend Alec Leith for the painted backgrounds (you talented guy!), Eric Phillips for letting me use musical recordings of the Cardiff And Vale Of Glamorgan Youth Orchestra, and finally a big thanks to my brother James Grindle for being the voice of Ralph and for composing the awesome song at the end of the film.

Sh*t Happens has done the rounds; it's won a few awards and has been screened at a number of festivals internationally. Here is a list of some of them:

International Film School of Wales Finest Films Award Ceremony Cardiff – Best Animation
International Film School of Wales Finest Films Award Ceremony Cardiff – Best Overall Film
Celtic Media Festival Caernarfon – Best Student Animation
Royal Television Society Regional Award Aberystwyth - Best Student Animation - Wales

Animated Exeter: Best of the West Awards '09 – Nominated
Fresh Film Awards '09 London – Best Animation
Bristol Encounters Short Film Festival – Nominated
Screentest Festival Bristol - Nominated

Many thanks, hope I haven't left anyone out!
